What does European law say?

Camelina Oil:

  • Source of fatty acids Omega-3.
  • Rich of fatty acids Omega-3.

According to the Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and Council of 20 December 2006 on the nutrition and health claims made on foods (modified 12/2014), we can confirm that Camelina oil is:

  • Source of Omega-3 fatty acids: it must contain at least 0,3 g of alphalinolenic acid per 100 g. Camelina oil contains around 35 g of alphalinolenic acid per 100 g.
  • Rich of Omega-3 fatty acids: it must contain at least 0,6 g of alphalinolenic acid per 100 g and per 100 kalories. Camelina oil contains around 35 g of alphalinolenic acid per 100 g.
  • Rich of polynsatured fatty acids: at least 45% fats in the product must come from polynsatured fats and bring more than 20% of energetic value of the product. Camelina oil contains around 55% of polynsatured fatty acids.
