Today most of the fishes and other animals are farmed. The interest and the research of new vegetal raw materials with high biological value and low environmental impact, able to substitute animal raw materials completely or partially, has increased considerably in the last years, particularly in the fish stock.
Camelina thanks to its low-input features and its high nutritional value, is certainly an excellent source of essential fatty acids (ω-3 e ω-6), of antioxidants and of alternative high level proteins without antinutritional factors.
Camelina-based feed are the result of a meticulous research of the best ingredients and the best balance among nutritional properties.

In zootechnics both Camelina oil and expeller can be used as feed.

Pure oil in zootechnics:

Is used in salmon feeding to increase meat Omega-3 and antioxidants content.

Camelina expeller in zootechnics:

is used with great results on livestock animals because it is an alternative protein-rich material and a great source of Omega-3 at the same time. Moreover Camelina content of Vitamin E prevents expeller oxidations and allows its conservation.

What is Camelina expeller?
Camelina expeller is the residue of Camelina seeds squeezing. It’s composed mainly by protein and fiber but still contains around 10% of oil because we press our seeds only with mechanical process without any solvents. This allows to increase both oil and expeller quality.
